Marianne Hawksworth joined Old Mill in 2015 as a VAT specialist, having worked in VAT for over 20 years, advising clients on VAT opportunities and savings on a bespoke and commercial basis.
Marianne gained her Chartered Tax Adviser status in 1994 and has been an active member of the UK wide VAT Practitioners’ Group since 2012. As part of the TIAG/TAG Law international accountants, tax and law network, Marianne also works on cross-border and international tax issues alongside her tax and other international specialist colleagues in Old Mill.
Marianne is keen to broaden the positive VAT opportunities facing owner-managed businesses and other taxpayers by providing a bespoke and practical solution to each client. Her experience in understanding the wider issues beyond VAT facing a business and the context in which a particular client operates means that her resolution of issues is on a pragmatic and commercial basis.
Marianne enjoys meeting clients at local business events across the region and understanding and fulfilling the particular needs of our client base. She lives in Wiltshire and has been extensively involved with the local Riding for the Disabled group at Pembroke Lodge (Wilton), as well as Salisbury Hockey Club and local school support as a parent. She enjoys travel and having the opportunity to use her German and French skills.
